Six years Late

So I finally watched Lagaan a week ago. And since then i re-watched it 3 times. If my math is right , i had seen lagaan 4 times in the past week. The movie did things to me. Am being overtly patriotic the past few days. I started watching cricket matches again. And it was then that out of nowhere i decided am going nowhere outside india. (No that isn't just sensationalism. True blue.)

And during these surging moments of patriotism, was not missed a certain peculiar scene from the movie. During their epic run chase, Aamir khan , completely foreshadowed by his opening partner Pradeep Rawat, runs him out. the fact that he was run out at 49, also supports malicious intentions. Years and eons later Rawat takes revenge by killing the former's girl friend and also bludgeoning him with an iron rod on the head thereby making him a victim of anterograde amnesia. Rawat's actions are thus vindicated.(At the end of the saga, Aamir strikes him back with a rod on his head. So if the prior sypmtoms are to follow, Rawat will also suffer from anterograde amnesia. Thats the plot for ghajini-2 , bloody nincompoops).

Not digressing from the topic i was doing extensive research about the movie. And there was this intriguing discussion at an imdb forum. check this out

Apart from the goof ups mentioned in imdb forums, i have some of my own concerns.

* Guran must be given a three-match ban for showing dissent at the umpires decision and an additional two-match ban for sledging.

* Who is the man of the match? Kachra for taking four wickets or Bhuvan for his century.

* The team that went to central africa, actually had a great time touring the states, beating Kenya,Namibia,Zimbabwe etc. Of course Elizabeth returned to London and was not available for help. So was it part of the greater plan of the English to go to Africa, a tradition that was well espoused by other teams a century later.

That said i congratulate Bhuvan's team on their victory. Bhuvan looks very similar to Dhoni in his batting style.
